“Rules of the game” policies

We focus on the structural policy changes that will increase access to voting and
reform our democracy to be more accessible and reflective of all communities,
especially those living at the intersections of race, class and gender.

WA Voting Justice Coalition

Win/Win’s Voting Justice coalition is dedicated to expanding access to our democracy and removing barriers to voting – systemic issues that impact our partner organizations and their ability to mobilize community. The coalition is working to pass statewide policies that make registration easier and would push back the voter registration deadline to allow more time for individuals to sign up before Election Day.

Census & redistricting

Every 10 years, the United States Census results in the redrawing of district lines for our legislative and congressional districts. In 2010, Washington got a new 10th Congressional District and Win/Win organized the United for Fair Representation coalition to make the case for district boundaries that would allow for better representation among communities of color. We are currently setting the foundation so that as the 2020 Census and redistricting process approaches, Win/Win and our partners are coordinated and ready.

Advancing the National Voter Registration Act

Win/Win’s coordinated advocacy with the WA Health Care Exchange Board ensured they were compliant with Section 7 of the National Voter Registration Act. This resulted in the Exchange board offering voter registration information to all clients online, in-person, and over the phone as well as sending a remedial letter and voter registration information to 618,000 Washingtonians – everyone who came through the Exchange in 2014.
